Sabudana Khichadi is a famous breakfast recipe in Northern and Western parts of India. It is a very delicious meal made by using Sago which consist of high carbohydrates and small amounts of proteins which can be balanced by Peanuts along with lemon and potatoes gives a rich flavor to this Khichadi
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls), soaked in 1/2 cup water for overnight
- 1 Potato (Aloo), boiled and cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin (Jeera) seeds
- 5 Coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 2 Green Chilies, finely chopped
- Turmeric powder (Haldi) 1/4 teaspoon
- Brown sugar 1 spoon
- 1/2 Lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Roasted Peanuts (Moongphali
- Roasted Peanut powder
- Oil 2 tablespoons
- Salt
Method:
Soak one cup Sabudhana with a half cup of water for overnight,
Pour oil into the pan and heat it in a medium flame, along with that add mustard and cumin seeds
Wait for a few seconds and add green chilies, cook for some time and add roasted peanuts
After that add Turmeric powder and boiled potatoes in the pan
Along with that add soga, salt, brown sugar and roasted peanut powder
Mix it properly and cook it by closing the lid for about few minutes
Remove the lid, Switch off the flame as well as garnish the Khichadi with coriander leaves and squeeze the half lemon
Sabudana Khichadi is ready
